When human fibroblasts were exposed to heat at 42°C,
collagen synthesis decreased, while the expression
of the collagen-degrading enzyme MMP increased.
In addition, when skin was exposed to heat for 30 minutes
ㅑn a burn-related model, elastic fibers were found to be broken,
and hyperpigmentation, collagen degeneration, and DNA damage were observed.

What happens when skin temperature rises?
Healthy skin temperature is 31°C, which is lower than body temperature.
When strong sunlight and humidity
push skin temperature up to 42°C,
collagen synthesis stops, degrading enzymes surge,
and rapid wrinkling and loss of elasticity begin.
Heat stimulation increases TRPV1, which responds to heat, pain, and irritating substances,
and this can accelerate not only skin aging but also inflammatory responses.
Heat aging should be approached not only through relieving surface heat on the skin,
but by blocking the collagen-degrading pathway inside the skin.

A lignan compound derived from the root of Saururus chinensis,
it inhibits the TRPV1 and MAPK pathways,
reduces MMP-1, and induces procollagen production,

We extracted Manassantin B,
the key active compound that can fundamentally block heat aging.
Manassantin B
does not merely cool the skin temporarily.
It is an ingredient that completely cuts off
the very pathway that allows heat stimulation
to switch on collagen destruction.
Manassantin B suppressed the expression of TRPV1
and the collagen-degrading enzyme MMP-1,
both of which increase in response to heat (infrared),
by up to 81% and 39% respectively,
while increasing collagen biosynthesis 4.6-fold,
showing wrinkle-improving efficacy

Manassantin B suppresses
the collagen-degrading enzymes
that increase due to heat.
At the same time,
it markedly boosts collagen biosynthesis.
Compared even with adenosine,
a representative wrinkle-improving ingredient,
it shows 1.2 times greater elasticity-improving effects.
Compared with arbutin,
Manassantin B effectively inhibited tyrosinase and melanin production
even at a concentration about 16,000 times lower.
It showed 2.8 times higher inhibition of tyrosinase than arbutin,
and 5,000 times greater inhibition of melanin production at the same concentration,
demonstrating whitening efficacy related to heat aging.

When the cream was used for 6 weeks,
the eye-wrinkle index decreased by about 22% (219.59→171.09),
showing wrinkle improvement compared with the control group.
When the serum was used for 8 weeks,
the skin brightness index (L value) increased significantly compared with the control group,
proving its effectiveness on melanin-related pigmentation and dark spots.

Effects Proven Directly on Skin
We directly confirmed
remarkable results on human skin as well.
After applying the cream for just 6 weeks,
eye wrinkles decreased significantly,
and after using the serum for 8 weeks,
the brightness of pigmented areas
became visibly clearer.
